உண்மைக்கு புறம்பான செய்தியினை பத்திரிகையில் பிரசுரித்தமை தொடர்பான கண்டனம்.

கடல் நீரினை நன்னீராக்கும் ஆலை தொடர்பான அறிவினை பகிர்தல் மற்றும் விழிப்புணர்வினை அரச உயர் அதிகாரிகளுக்கு ஏற்படுத்தும் வகையில் பயிற்சிப்பட்டறை நிகழ்வு ஒன்று 17-07-2017 திகதி காலை 9.00 மணிக்கு மாவட்ட செயலகத்தில் நடைபெற்றது.

இப்பயிற்சிப்பட்டறையில் கலந்துகொண்ட அரசாங்க அதிபர் மற்றும் மாவட்ட செயலாளர் அவர்கள் “இராணுவத்தினர் அதிக நீரினை பயன்படுத்துவதால் தான் நன்னீர் பற்றாக்குறை குடாநாட்டில் நிலவுவதாக” 18-07-2017 திகதி சில பத்திரிகைகளில் செய்தி வெளியாகியிருந்தது.

இச்செய்தியை மாவட்ட செயலகம் முற்றாக மறுக்கிறது. மேலும் இந்த செய்தியையோ இச் செய்தி கூறும் கருத்துப்படவோ அரச அதிபர் அவர்களோ அல்லது வேறு அதிகாரிகளோ அங்கு உரையாற்றவில்லை. இச் செய்தி எம்மை பேரதிர்ச்சியடைய வைக்கிறது. மேலும் இச் செய்தியினால் நாம் ஆழ்ந்த கவலையும் வேதனையும் அடைகிறோம்.  அத்துடன் இவ்வாறான செய்திகளை வெளியிடல் எமது அரச அதிபருக்கும் மாவட்ட செயலகத்துக்கும் அபகீர்த்தியை ஏற்படுத்தும் வகையில் அமைவதுடன் எம்மையும் மனவுளைச்சலுக்கு ஆளாக்கின்றது. எனவே அதிமுக்கிய அல்லது உயர்தாக்கமுடைய செய்திகளை வெளியிடும் முன்னர் அது பற்றிய உண்மைத்தன்மையினை மாவட்ட செயலக அதிகாராமட்டத்துடன் தொடர்புகொண்டு உறுதிப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளுமாறு பத்திரிகை நண்பர்களை அன்புடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம்

Dengue Eradication Programme

The Dengue eradication programme was initiated at the District Secretariat on 15.07.2017 Saturday at 9.30 am with the contribution of the staff of the office as per the request of the Presidential Secretariat to initiate island wide dengue eradication programme. The breeding site of mosquitos were identify at destroyed in order to declare the surrounding of District Secretariat on Dengue free Zone.

Initiate effort today to eradicate Dengue forever

The Presidential Secretariat released message calling for  initiating dengue control programme by eliminating the breeding site of mosquitoes in the houses and government offices with the coordinating of public on 15.07.2017 (Saturday). They request public to clean their houses and government officers to clean their office in order to eliminate all breeding sites from houses and offices. Request is sought to contribute their effort from all parties to implement extensive eradicate measure in order to make the houses, garden and office as dengue free zone.

Disaster Relief for affected People

Relief assistance for the people affected of disaster zone of Sri Lanka were collected by the officers of District Secretariat Jaffna and handed over to the District Secretary, Matara on last Saturday.

District Secretariat and Divisional Secretariats staff, Driving Learner Schools, Restaurants, Business Association- Jaffna, Textiles and Schools are providing relief to the people who are affect by disaster.

Loaded Vehicles arrived with relief items included rice,milk powder, biscuits, dhal, noodles, cloths, drinking water and sanitary items were reached at District Secretariat, Matara on 03.06.2017.

These relief items collected by District Secretariat, Jaffna were handed over to the District Secretary, Matara by Mr.K.Kanageswaran Divisional Secretary Maruthankerny on behalf of District Secretary.

Mr.Pradeep Rathnayaka, Government Agent, Matara accepted the relief items and he expressed his gratitude on behalf of Matara people to the Government Agent of Jaffna, the Government officers and the public contributed the relief material.

Meeting of the Committee on the Elimination of Gender based Violence

The meeting of the committee on the elimination of gender based violence was held on today at 11.30 am at the Divisional Secretariat, Jaffna presided by the Government Agent.

The Government Agent said in the discussion the officers should pay visit to the field in order to select beneficiary of the livelihood assistance delivered by the government.

Selection of in order to ensure the right person of the benefit. The officers should ask questions regarding their needs and provide necessary guidance to develop their livelihood. Public should express their needs to the field officers of Grama Niladhari without hesitation.

He asked the officers to be honesty and transparency in selecting beneficiaries of housing scheme and livelihood assistance. He asked the public not to fall prey of unauthorized money lenders who ask for exorbitant interest. In spite of the warning the central bank, large segment of the public exposed to the loan sharks due to lack of awareness.

Gender based issued and other problems faced by the women headed families in Jaffna and the solutions were discussed in this meeting.

Mrs.S.Theivendram, Additional Government Agent, Jaffna, Child and Woman Development Officers, Lawyers, Representatives of volunteer organization and the officers of District Secretariat also participated at the discussion.
